It's been awhile

Well, shame on me for not posting anything for such a long time. I've been busy with my new puppy, djembe drumming, camping and trying not to kill my vegetable garden. I haven't done as much photography as I would have liked with my DSLR, but I have been taking some photographs with my smartphone camera and my point and shoot. I have also been busy with some paint marker art. I did a design on a shirt and am currently working on a djembe drum strap. Very cool.

Awww, my crazy puppy. I am really enjoying my time with T (yes, her name is T). It's been 7 years since I've had a dog and I totally forgot how much energy a puppy has. I constantly have to be watching and teaching her to be a good girl. Now that she's 9 months old it has definitely gotten a lot easier as far as the training goes but her energy level is still high. I'm always amazed when we get home from the park/beach where she spends her time running around rough housing with the other dogs, playing in the water and chasing the ball around that she seems to have as much energy as she did before we went there. Phew! Of course, I'm exhausted from throwing, throwing and throwing the ball AND chasing after her to get her to drop the dead crabs she seems to find every time we go on the beach. Yeck!

The photograph below is from a hike we were taking while on one of our camping trips. In this picture she is running up hill from a pond she discovered and thought she was going to get into trouble for going in the water without my consent. I'm so glad I had my little point and shoot with me and snapped this picture of her in mid air. I was really surprised when I viewed my pictures on my computer that I actually snapped the picture while she was in mid air.

I have taken a lot of great photographs of her starting from when I first brought her home from the animal shelter. Almost all of the photographs have been taken by either my smartphone or my point and shoot. The photographs do not come out as perfect as they do with my DSLR, but I think they come out good enough for my own personal library. I definitely recommend that everyone carry some type of a camera with you at all times if possible. You just never know when there will be something interesting that you might want to photograph. My DSLR is just too much for me to lug around and also watch T so she doesn't get herself into trouble. Having my little point and shoots allows me to catch crazy shots like these.

The picture above was taken after I discovered a dead black ant that was stuck to her lip. I'm thinking it might have bit her before dieing and then got stuck in her hairy little face. I saw this when we were in the car driving around Vermont and she decided to squeeze between the two front seats so she could look out the front window.

So, this is why I haven't been posting as much as I should be. This little puppy has been taking up so much of my time. I promise to be better with my posts.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Remember to take it slow, be present and enjoy all the beauty that's around you.

Peace and Love,
