So Much Excitement Around Cambridge Arts Walk

I am so excited and so exhausted. I'm not only getting ready for this years Cambridge Arts Council Open Studios Weekend, but decided to be a part of helping Hope Fellowship Church's participation in it. Last year at this time I was just another vendor getting ready to participate. This year I feel a strong and welcomed part of an artist family that Odoi Odotei and Harry Falsom created after last years Arts Festival. I met so many wonderful and loving folks from just this one Arts Festival it is truly amazing. So, one of the things I volunteered for was the Art Jury and Review Committee. I really wanted to get to see the art work and be a part of the important selection of it. Caroline and I spent many hours going over each and every piece of art that approximately 35 other artist dropped off in hopes that their art work would be hung. Let me tell you when I say... there is some beautiful work that will be on display this Saturday, April 25th at Hope Fellowship Church. Just to drop a couple of names... Harry Falsom and Jeannie Motherwell are both exhibiting here. Ya, if that's not enough to come by and see I don't know what is. Anyway, there will be approximately another 30 artist who will have tables set up - including myself. Of course, I will also be exhibiting my work. I do want to say that I am so proud that I am part of this group of artist that is burning candles at both ends to not only get their work ready for the show, but to make sure Hope Fellowship Church's needs are met and money is raised (by the table fees from artist) that will go to support Streetlight & Starlight Homeless Ministries. The weather is suppose to be great so I hope you all can find some time to come down, take a look at this work, say hi, support your local artist and feel the spirit that exists at Hope for both artist and art lovers. Time: 12-4 Art Exhibition and from 6-9 Live Talent Showcase. Place: Hope Church, 16 Beech St., Cambridge. I will be there watching the Live Talent Showcase so if you see me, please don't be shy...come over and hang out with me.

Peace and Love,

Cathy

Current Schedule for Spring...

The flowers are coming up every where I turn... I absolutely love it. And... the offers are coming in for me to show my work - yay. I have a few definite things going on right now that I would like to let you in on. A few other things are pending that I'll let you know about soon. Right now for sure... April 25th is the Cambridge Arts Open Studios. I'll be exhibiting at Hope Fellowship Church, 16 Beech St, Cambridge. Not only will I be exhibiting 5 pieces of my work, but I will also have a vendor table. There will be a couple of well known artist exhibiting this year at Hope Fellowship Church, such as Harry Falsom and Jeannie Motherwell. So please come by between 12-4 to buy art or 6 and after to see the performing artist. This Art Walk was wonderful last year and I expect it to be just as great this year. I'm not sure if I'll be there after 6 pm, however due to the fact that I also have one of my photographs being auctioned off at the Art Auction @ "the hyde" located at 5 Fairmount Ave., Hyde Park which will support Artist-at-Large. This is free to get in from 6-10 pm. Music starts at 7 and it's Jazz. There will be food and, of course, the silent auction. Also, for the first year I will be exhibiting at the Marblehead Art Walk. I have been paired up with Marblehead Used Book Store at 59 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead. The Opening Reception is Friday night, May 1st from 6-8pm and the Art Walk is Saturday, May 2, 10-5 and Sunday, May 3rd 12-5. So, I'm a busy, busy artist and I feel blessed to be doing these events. I hope I will see you at one, or more of these events. Now.....for me... it's back to work so I have something beautiful to offer you.

Peace and Love,

Cathy

MS Bike Ride/Fundraiser and Photography

Today I went for the first of many training rides for the MS Bike Ride that I will be doing in June. It felt great to be outside training instead of being inside a gym. The weather was great and I felt comfortable for the first ride of the season. As most of you know last Sunday (March 29th) Team DiCathalon held our Fundraiser. It was the first fundraiser that I was ever a part of putting together and it went off without a hitch. A lot of working putting together, but once the day was here it was wonderful. DJ Jodi was spinning some great tunes, Kol sang quite a few Shania Twain's songs, there was plenty to eat and drink, the conversation was endless and smiles were seen from one side of the room to the other. People mixed and mingled introducing themselves to those that they did not know. It was nice to see so many friendly faces willing to help a great cause. I'm also happy to say that we took in more money for MS than we originally thought we would. Team DiCathalon has now upped our fund raising goal. For those of you who can... please go to my personal MS page to donate... http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR?px=5994263&pg=personal&fr_id=9592 Thank you, thank you, thank you. And, not only thank you for those who donated their money and for coming, but for those who donated their time by helping us bar tend, dj, set up beforehand, clean up after wards, sell raffle tickets, pick up last minute things, watch over my pictures, for donating raffle items and for anything that I might have missed. All of you are wonderful people that I hold close in my heart...... Ok, now let me just say a word about my photography... I will be in the Hope Fellowship 5th Annual Arts Festival on April 25th. Mark your calendars. It is part of the Cambridge Arts Council Open Studios Weekend. The time is 12-4 for the Art Exhibition and then 6:00 - for the Live Talent Showcase. This is located at 16 Beech Street, Cambridge, MA. The best place to park is on Elm St. (Somerville) and walk the few buildings down. I hope to see many of you at the Arts Festival.

Peace and Love,

Cathy
