Halloween Themed Show

Halloween really isn't my thing like it is to other people, but I agreed to do a show at The Inkwell in Amesbury where my work is currently hung on consignment. I think it will be fun except for the fact that I have to come up with Halloween Themed photographs. I wonder if other photographers have this same problem? I just love to take pictures of whatever catches my eye instead of being forced into a subject matter. Of course, once I actually find the not-so-likeable "subject matter" and the pictures are taken I'm excited to show them to others. But the searching is grueling. I'll post the date of the show as soon as I get them. Until then .. visit my website - http://www.cathystacyphotography.com/. Enjoy! Peace and Love!

Hello Art Lovers.....I want to introduce myself

To start off I'm going to introduce myself, tell you a little bit about myself. In later blogs I will let you know what I am doing, give you more samples of my work, let you know what I am looking for, etc. So here goes: My name is Cathy Stacy and I'm a local photographer living in Winthrop. My story is that I left corporate America two years ago because I just couldn't stand the greed any more and started doing what made me feel good. I didn't like the greed, but for a long time I went with the flow. I always felt different. I was the rebel. Not the leader, but definitely not the follower. People admired me for it. I was the "cool" one. I had a lot of friends. But I just didn't feel like a fit in anywhere. I didn't know why. Until I heard an artist give a speech. He read the definition of an artist's personality ---- aaaaahhhh ---- finally ---- I got it -- I wasn't so much a rebel - I was an artist. Wow, all these years I was struggling to figure out what and who I was. All these years I kept saying: I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. All these years I kept the artist inside me from completely coming out of me. I finally became a professional photographer at age 48. Finally, I am passionate and love what I do and love sharing my work with others. Check out my website at www.cathystacyphotography.com for more of my photography. Enjoy!
